Well I have not written a blog for long, because well as always I was quite busy planning and doing things for company as well as for customers. We released Buddy Zone 2.0 in late July, added few features which we as a team here thaught will make buddy zone sites more “sticky” (which has been our tagline since start) for the users of the site. Well some liked the new concepts and some hated it :p. Things happen. Well we already have so many features on the software that I was more kean on making it more stable and less bug free then keep on adding more and more features which will be rarely used by the users of the website. We have been dealing with many clients who are using buddy zone and have user base in between 50,000 to 200,000 and I came to know from them what is that the users want, which was: Better navigation, more 2.0 look and feel and faster website of course a cleaner code is always a plus. That is what we concentrated on 2.0 and will be concentrating on in all 2+ versions.

We have already tested buddy zone with 200,000 users and with approx. 7000 members/guests online at one time and the speed of the software was greatly improved since 1.0.1, which was our major concern since 1.0.1 was released, we have improved the speed and sql queries tremendously from 1.0.1 to 2.0. There are more things we can do but atleast we have started doing what is essential for a website to succeed.

The purpose of the blog is not to advertise that buddy zone is the best, well :-p it is the best , but is to let our visitors know that we are heading towards making buddy zone more stable, more fast and more reliable, ofcourse that does not mean we will not add new features, we will be adding in any new exciting features that we like and our customers share with us in the software.
