New Buddy Zone 2.0

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

Well I have not written a blog for long, because well as always I was quite busy planning and doing things for company as well as for customers. We released Buddy Zone 2.0 in late July, added few features which we as a team here thaught will make buddy zone sites more “sticky” (which has been our tagline since start) for the users of the site. Well some liked the new concepts and some hated it :p. Things happen. Well we already have so many features on the software that I was more kean on making it more stable and less bug free then keep on adding more and more features which will be rarely used by the users of the website. We have been dealing with many clients who are using buddy zone and have user base in between 50,000 to 200,000 and I came to know from them what is that the users want, which was: Better navigation, more 2.0 look and feel and faster website of course a cleaner code is always a plus. That is what we concentrated on 2.0 and will be concentrating on in all 2+ versions.

We have already tested buddy zone with 200,000 users and with approx. 7000 members/guests online at one time and the speed of the software was greatly improved since 1.0.1, which was our major concern since 1.0.1 was released, we have improved the speed and sql queries tremendously from 1.0.1 to 2.0. There are more things we can do but atleast we have started doing what is essential for a website to succeed.

The purpose of the blog is not to advertise that buddy zone is the best, well :-p it is the best ;-) , but is to let our visitors know that we are heading towards making buddy zone more stable, more fast and more reliable, ofcourse that does not mean we will not add new features, we will be adding in any new exciting features that we like and our customers share with us in the software.

I will keep you posted about the developments going on in buddy zone as we move forward.

Reason we do verifications of our sales!

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

We are often asked why do we ask our customers to sign an agreement and then call them to do the verification. The reason is quite simple, “It it for our security and for our customers security”.

How is it our Security?

It is our security because we screen each transaction to find any bad ones, and yes we do find bad ones every now and then which are refunded. What a bad transaction means for us, “Our software can get into the hands of warez people and be pirated”. So by screening the sales we avoid that, and when a software is paid for, you get what you deserve “Great Support”.

How is it your Security?

What if someone else used your paypal account/credit card to make a payment and after 5-7 days you come to know about it, it will be a pain to get that money back which you never intended to pay. Now, in order to avoid this for our customers we do this, by spending our dollars and our time.

In the end I hope everyone will co-operate with us and see the reason why we do this. Thanks.
